Weekly update Thursday 28th September 2023

Our Vision
We believe that our children should have the aspiration and opportunity to ‘Live life in all its fullness and ‘Shine like stars in the sky’.

New this week…

We have received this message from the Jeans for Genes charity after last Friday’s amazing fundraising effort.  Between us, we raised £90!
Two little important words: thank you
We know times are tough at the moment but we’re bowled over by your continued support for Jeans for Genes and the families we support.  Thanks to you for wearing jeans, fundraising and donating money.  You have had a life-changing impact – both emotionally and financially.
If anyone else would like to donate online, you can still do so here:

Website and Email Communication
Following on from the information we provided last week, we are continuing to investigate website and email communication.  These problems do not lie with school but with the website provider and Microsoft.  Thank you for your patience.

Nursery Parents
To parents of children due to start Reception in September 2024, the application window to secure your reception space will soon be opening.  Even if your child is already in Nursery here, you must still apply for a school place.

Dates from NYCC website:

From 12 October 2023, you can apply for a school place for children born between:
  • 1 September 2016 and 31 August 2017
  • 1 September 2019 and 31 August 2020

Reminders

Harvest Festival
We will be holding a Harvest Breakfast Service in school on Friday 29th September at 9:15am which all parents are invited to. Parents are invited to hear about our community project plans for the year head and then to share in a Harvest Breakfast prepared by the children for members of our school and local community.

A massive thank you to everyone who has donated food for our care packages.

Flu Vaccinations

Dear Parents/Carers,

Please ensure that you have completed the Flu consent form using the link below so that your child can be vaccinated in school. Please note, if you have already completed the consent form, you do not need to fill in another form.

News from the Wider Community

Our next All-Age Worship will take place at St Nicholas Church on Sunday 8th October at 9.30am.  This will be a special occasion as it will be the first time that our new vicar, Reverend Jane, will be leading the service.
If any children would like to help out with the readings, prayers or any other little jobs, please let Miss Mandelson know.  Unfortunately, Miss Mandelson is away that weekend but Miss Marlow has very kindly offered to take her place at the service to support the children.

JAM Messy Church
We are hoping to hold our next JAM session on Monday 16th October 3.30 – 5.00.  More information to follow next week.
