Weekly Update 4.07.25
04 Jul 2025
We believe that our children should have the aspiration and opportunity to ‘Live life in all its fullness’ and ‘Shine like stars in the sky’.
WELLBEING DAY AT STUDFOLD
We had a wonderful day at Studfold Adventure Trail on Monday. It was lovely to all be together in beautiful surroundings and enjoy the glorious sunshine. We managed to achieve all five of the ‘5 ways to Wellbeing’! A huge thank you to Maisie, Poppy and Leroy who worked so hard to organise the day from making the initial phone calls, carrying out the ‘recce’ and creating a visual risk assessment for their younger peers...to completing the evaluation forms at the end of the visit. Many thanks also to the Friends PTA group whose fundraising efforts covered the cost of the transport…and to Mrs Walker who gave up her time to come back and help out! It was so lovely to see her again.
There was so much to do there that it was tricky to fit everything in! Many children are hoping they can return to explore some more – perhaps an idea for a family day out in the summer holidays? (see below for details)
MOANA
Best of luck to all our budding performers and backstage crew for their performances of Moana this afternoon. They have worked so hard alongside their Kirkby Malzeard friends over the last month. We know that you are all going to enjoy the show! Many thanks for your support with the arrangements for rehearsals, costumes, etc.
Coming up…
Y6 TRANSITION
Next week, our Y6 children will be attending various transition events at their secondary schools. We hope you have a great time exploring your new schools and making new friends.
MUSIC TUITION
Mrs Harris will be in school on Monday 7
th for an extra session to make up for lessons missed today due to Moana. Friday 11
th will be the last lesson of the term. Please make sure all payments are up-to-date.
SPORTING INFLUENCE
Please ensure that all children have their PE kits in school on
Wednesday 9th as they will be participating in workshops with Sporting Influence during the morning.
FOREST SCHOOL
Just a reminder that children in Nursery to Year Two need a long sleeve top and full-length trousers for forest school on Wednesday afternoon. Please could you also ensure that you send your child with waterproofs? Whilst we have some spare waterproofs in school, each week more and more children are relying on school spares and we don't have enough for everybody. Thank you for your support with this.
There will be an additional Forest School session coming up as follows:
Friday 11th July for N-Y2
On this occasion, children should come to school dressed in their Forest School kit and will then change into PE kits for the afternoon sessions.
NEW STARTER MEETING
There will be a meeting on
Friday 11th at 9am for parents of children due to start in Reception in September.

NY MUSIC TUITION
It has been wonderful to see the progress that the KS2 children have made in their brass lessons with Mr Bryant over the course of the year. We hope to be able to showcase this in a performance for parents before we break up for the summer. In case any of the children are now inspired to take up an instrument, small group or individual tuition is available via the North Yorkshire Music Service. A polite reminder that if you send your child with grapes for snack or in their packed lunch they must be sliced lengthways to avoid being a choking risk.
