Weekly Update 16.05.25

16 May 2025

We believe that our children should have the aspiration and opportunity to ‘Live life in all its fullness’ and ‘Shine like stars in the sky’.

WELL DONE…
…to our Y6 children!  They have been super troopers this week, coming in each day with a positive attitude and really giving the SATS their best shot.  We are so proud of you Y6s and now look forward to making memories with you as you come to your final half-term at primary school!  A big well done to the Y2-Y5 children who were super sensible, with the Y4-5 children ‘evacuating’ Asteroid classroom and squeezing in with Comets for the week.  Miss Mandelson has really enjoyed having you and seeing your enthusiasm for our ‘Carrie’s War’ project.  There has been a little disruption to some reading groups this week, so some children will not be bringing home their usual reading book.  We’ll be back on track next week.

THANK YOU…
…to everyone in our school community for bearing with us whilst we have been short-staffed on Reception/admin.  We have really appreciated your patience and understanding!  Apologies that there has been a delay in putting school lunches onto ParentPay – we hope to have done this by the end of next week.  In the meantime, we kindly request that any outstanding amounts for Nursery fees or clubs are cleared as soon as possible so that accounts are up-to-date.  Many thanks.

REMINDERS
Next week will be a very sporty week.  See below for reminders about all the events taking place.  Please make sure that PE kits (including sun hats) are in school all week and that, if necessary, long-lasting sun cream is applied before school.

SPORTS DAY – TUESDAY 20th May
All are welcome to join us for our annual sports day event from 1:15pm onwards.

STRIKING GAMES
Children from Y5 and Y6 will be heading off to Outwood on Wednesday morning to take part in a striking games event alongside their friends from Kirkby Malzeard.

FOREST SCHOOL
Rockets (including Y2) will be heading down for Forest School next Friday morning.  Please could they come to school wearing their Forest School kit and bring their waterproofs in a bag to add later.  Thank you.

AUDITIONS
Next Friday, auditions will be held for all those wishing to be considered for a substantial part in this year’s KS2 production of Moana.
