Weekly update 25/04/2025

25 Apr 2025

We believe that our children should have the aspiration and opportunity to ‘Live life in all its fullness’ and ‘Shine like stars in the sky’.

WELCOME BACK
We hope everyone had a lovely Easter break.  It has been great to catch up with children’s holiday news ahead of a busy and exciting summer term.

Newsletters
Class Newsletters and Sticky Knowledge sheets for the summer term have been added to the class pages of the website

Clubs
A Reminder that clubs for this half term are now available to pay via parent pay. Please ensure this is paid by Sunday 27th April so your child can attend the club.

VE DAY CELEBRATIONS
Next week, we shall be busy preparing to join in with the village celebrations to mark the anniversary of VE Day.  Our first job will be to make our scarecrow for the trail.  We are thinking of theming ours around the 1940s with an evacuee.  If anyone has any useful items eg old-fashioned suitcase, hand-knitted garments, etc, that they would be willing to loan, please get in touch.  If you would like to participate as a family and prepare your own scarecrow at home, here are the details:

Big call out to everybody for 1940’s / 50’s themed scarecrows, you can draw inspiration from anything relevant to this period not necessarily WWll related. The trail will cover a smaller area central to the village to make accessibility easier for all ages. Prizes for 1st to 3rd place.  Plenty of areas will be free for those living outside of the scarecrow trail area, book your preferred tree, hidden corner or bus stop for example by contacting:
Lynette Welford 07791 020694 or at the Village shop.

A BIG THANK YOU…
…from Comet Class to the Friends PTA group and all who support their fundraising efforts.  We are really enjoying our new skipping ropes!
