Weekly update 060225

06 Feb 2025

We believe that our children should have the aspiration and opportunity to ‘Live life in all its fullness’ and ‘Shine like stars in the sky’.

New this week…

Big Schools’ Birdwatch is back for 2025!

We are joining thousands of other schools to find out which birds visit our school grounds. Together, we can make it count! Not only will we helping to monitor birds, we shall also be using the 5 ways to wellbeing to look after our mental health for Children’s Mental Health Week.

Our Y6 Wellbeing Ambassadors, Maisie and Leroy, have been busy planning a presentation to introduce the project to the school community on Monday. They will provide:
-bird-related busy start activities to get everyone started;
-class tally charts to keep a record of the birds we see;
-advice and support to keep the project going.

They have even managed to negotiate with class teachers to get a time slot each morning to do this…and they plan to invite our neighbours to join in too so that we can come together as a community to support the work of the RSPB and promote good wellbeing for all! On that note, if you would like to join in at home please see the attachment below:

Young Voices

As Young Voices is fast approaching, please encourage your child to listen to some of the songs we are still learning at home.
All songs can be found on You tube here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6hkCrfwQMU&list=PLXU0D7ea-nJy2Ca3BleoQkGBzSq9v15S9
Also, the songs are available on apple music and Spotify, from the official young voices. Just search Young Voices 2025
Please remind your child to listen to these at home to familiarise themselves with them so they can fully enjoy the Young Voices experience.
Thank you for your support.
