Our Vision
We believe that our children should have the aspiration and opportunity to ‘Live life in all its fullness’ and ‘Shine like stars in the sky’.
New this week…
Nativity
Children in
Nursery-Y2 have received their scripts and costume letters this week. Please can parents support their child to learn their words at home. Little and often is the best way to help them stick!
Costumes should be in school by
Thursday 5th December in a named carrier bag.
Governor visits for Pupil Voice
Governors recently visited the school to talk to the children about their school experiences and found them very eager to tell us about how they enjoy their time at the school.
They like coming to the school, enjoy learning together, reading the amazing range of books and having a wide selection of enrichment activities such as Forest School, cooking, sport and residentials. They said the teachers are welcoming and they feel safe at the school and know what good behaviour means. There are procedures in place should there be any concerns about behaviour.
During the group discussions they took turns to listen to each other and demonstrated respect and kindness towards their peers. They think St Nicholas is a good school where everyone is equal, and their hard work is recognised.
The children spoke at length and all acknowledged the excellent pastoral support that the school offers and how they found their teachers most approachable in any situation. Mrs Johnson was given considerable credit for the help she offers with problems and one-to-one support. Each child was genuinely proud to attend St Nicholas C of E Primary School.
Thank you from the governors to everyone who helps to make the school so good.

Parent help - send a postcard!
As part of geography and helping the children understand place and locational knowledge could I ask that if any parents or relatives are visiting places of interest or travelling to other destinations on day trips or on holidays that they pick up a postcard. They can either send to school by post or send the postcard with their child on return to school. We can then, together as a class, find, locate and investigate locations around the world. I am sure they will be eager to learn about who has been where and this will enthuse and encourage them to further their skills in using world maps, atlases and globes.
Christmas Disco
We are thrilled to announce the
School Christmas Disco, organized by the amazing friends. This event promises to be a night filled with fun, laughter, and festive cheer. Children are welcome to bring some change for the tuck shop and a change of clothes! Whether they want to flaunt their festive outfits or dance in comfortable attire, the choice is theirs. See attached poster for details!
