Our Vision

Weekly Update Friday 8
th March 2024
New this week…
A huge thank you to everyone in our school community for such a positive response following a traffic incident outside school last week. The ‘near-miss’ accident appeared to be caused by the high volume of traffic coming in and out of the cul-de-sac, leading to poor visibility for both drivers and pedestrians. To avoid a reoccurrence, we have asked that those who do not need to come into the cul-de-sac consider other options, such as allowing extra time to park in the village hall car park or along the main road. This has worked very well this week with everyone pulling together to make the area outside school less congested and therefore safer for all. Thank you so much for your support and understanding.
Forest School
Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are in the Forest on Friday 15
th March to celebrate our golden thread. Please ensure children have a full set of waterproofs and wellies.
RSE Survey
Our current federation policy for Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) has been in its current form for three years. We would now like to consult parents and carers once again as we come to review it. We would be very grateful if you could take a moment to complete our survey and return it to school by
Friday 22nd March. You can access the survey by clicking on the link below:

…or look out for the paper copy coming home with your child on
Friday. Many thanks in advance for your help with this.
PSHE Busy End – Clever Never Goes
You will remember that PCSOs Heather and Charlotte called into school in December to talk to the children about the Clever Never Goes message. We are delighted that they shall be returning on
Thursday 14th March to check-in with the children about this…and possibly answer a few questions about their careers in the Police. Parents and carers are warmly invited to pop in anytime from
2:45pm to join these sessions if interested to hear more. PCSOs Heather and Charlotte will also be around in the playground after school if you want to catch them for a chat or any advice.
Last Call for JAM
Many thanks to all who have already signed up for our next
JAM session on
Tuesday 12th March 3.30 – 5.00. If your child(ren) would like to attend, please can you let us know by the close of Friday so we know numbers for catering. Many thanks.
Mothering Sunday
There will be a Mothering Sunday Service at
St Nicholas Church on
Sunday 10th March at 9.30am – all welcome. Many thanks to the children who have volunteered to help with this.
Comic Relief
Next
Friday 15th March will be
Red Nose Day. Our school councillors have been very busy consulting with their classmates about how best to mark this occasion. We have decided to go for a non-uniform day and children are invited to wear something red if possible to fit in the Go Red with Blue Peter theme. This might just be a red accessory – it is up to you how far you take the red theme! If you would like to make a small donation, you can do so through school, but we understand that you may prefer to donate via other means. Many thanks to the School Council who have offered to lead a Collective Worship next week to share some information about what Red Nose Day is all about.

Online Gaming - Roblox
Online gaming can be great fun for our children and we teach widely in school about how to be safe when playing online. A game we know many of our children (across the school) enjoy is Roblox. This site can be suitable for wide age-range but needs to be managed carefully with support from adults at home. Please see the following website for specific information and advice to support you at home:
