Football's Coming Home (to West Tanfield!)

What a superstar!
Did you know that we have an international football star in our midst? Many congratulations to Mark and his U8 team mates from Bedale Football Club who travelled over to Barcelona during the Easter holidays to take on a number of teams...and came home victorious!
Proud mum, Hannah, reports:
"Mark and his team won the Easter Silver Plate Grassroots Competition in Barcelona 2022 (in the rain).
They were excellent representing Bedale Under 8s football team.
When we arrived we were informed we were playing up an age group so Under 9s, (some of the Bedale team are only 7years old!) and playing the off side rule!
Bedale played teams from Scotland, Ireland, two Spanish teams, a team from Burnley and a team from Denmark.
So we now have an international footballer!!"
We are all very proud of you, Mark. What an amazing experience to have at such a young age! We can't wait to see what the future holds for you and your team mates.
