Play Leaders

On Thursday, the St Nicholas and Kirkby Malzeard play leaders came together to take part in play leader training. The children learned how to organise and structure play time activities through the concept of PACE ( People, Area, Communication and Equipment ). The children took their training seriously and by the end of the two hour training session demonstrated that they were ready to lead other children in a safe and responsible manner.
The St Nicholas play leaders will now take over Active Playtimes when they will set up a different activity during each morning play, encouraging all pupils to join in. At lunchtimes the designated play leaders will organise more informal games and activities.
