Weekly Updates – 13.1.23
Young Voices
Less than 4 weeks to go! Well done to all the students who are practising at home - if you do struggle to access the myclassmate.ai website, please email me at b.harris@kirkbymalzeard.n-yorks.sch.uk and I will send you a new code to get in. It really needs your help at home to get these songs learnt so we can have the best experience on the day. I suggest a minimum of 3 times a week.
More details about the day itself will follow soon.
Class Information
Class newsletters and updated class timetables will on the class pages of the website by Monday.
Winter outdoor clothing
Please can children all come to school in a warm and waterproof coat- we are outside in all weathers so children must be appropriately dressed.
Can you help?
As you know, we have been purchasing many new reading books in recent months. Unfortunately, we are finding that some of them are being damaged due to accidents involving water bottles in back packs (even when the water bottle is stored in the external holder). We provide a school book bag free of charge for every child when they arrive at school and encourage children to use these to keep their reading books, reading diaries, etc safe and in good condition. Replacement book bags can be purchased from school if needed. Many thanks for your help with this.
In school next week...
Swimming
Swimming lessons on Wednesday for
Rocket Class.
Children will need:
Swim cap (These can be bought from the swimming baths, please send £1.00 in an envelope labelled with your child’s name)

Forest School
Asteroid class continue forest school sessions each Wednesday until half term. Children should wear old, comfortable clothes and wellies or trainers for this along with waterproof trousers and coats.
School visit to Makkah Mosque
Don't forget to read and confirm your child's attendance on the school visits to the Mosque in Leeds. Payment and the additional voluntary contribution are now live on Parent Pay. The Mosque want to welcome us as their guests and have asked that we do not alter our dress code for the visit, please ensure that children are wearing full, smart school uniform to show respect and to represent the school.
If you are bringing a packed lunch from home, please read the visit information letter carefully.
Safeguarding, Mental health and Wellbeing Updates
Don’t forget to check out the pages on our website for lots of great resources and information.
Health and Safety
Please can all children with long hair (below shoulder) wear this up for health and safety reasons. Bobbles are available in school. Plain head bands only please.
Have a lovely weekend.
