A Right Royal Do!

26 May 2022

Three Cheers for Her Majesty!
Many thanks to Sharon who put on a feast fit for royalty to kick off our Platinum Jubilee celebrations.  Our special lunch began with the national anthem...

...and ended with the presentation of commemorative coins provided by the Ripon Rotary Club.  Each and every child from the oldest to the youngest received one of these special keepsakes.

Mrs Taylor also took this opportunity to present the Year 6 children with their Leavers' hoodies - don't they look smart!  Many thanks to the Friends PTA group who arrange this for the children.

It was also lovely to see so many pupils past, present and future out and about for the village jubilee celebrations over the Bank Holiday weekend.  The sun shone for the West Tanfield Parish Sports Day and many of our own scooped up prizes, either for their baking skills or sporting prowess:

Well done to everyone who took part!

You will also remember that Maisy, Ava and Mark's designs were used for some very special mugs to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee.  Mr Bourne-Arton popped in to school to ensure that every child had received one of these during the course of the celebrations.  If you would like any further mugs, they can be purchased at West Tanfield Village Store.
