Autumn Term Parent Consultations – if you have not yet booked your slot, please ensure you do this as soon as possible via the link sent out.

Price increases
Prices are increasing for school meals.  They will be updated on Parent Pay on Monday 6 November 2023 as follows:
School Meals will be £3.50
 
Year 6 Pupils transferring Secondary School in September 2024
If you haven’t already made an application for a secondary school for September 2024, please don’t forget to apply by the 31 October 2023.  
Applications can be made online at www.northyorks.gov.uk/admissions 
 
Forest School
Asteroids (Years 4,5,6) and EYFS (Nursery and Reception) will be doing forest school every Wednesday afternoon, starting Wednesday 8th November 2023. Please ensure your child comes to school with appropriate clothing and waterproofs.
Poppy Collection
On Monday 6th November 2023 (the first week after half term) we will be collecting for the Royal British Legion in support of our Armed Forces community.  Children will be asked to bring any donations into school in an envelope with their name on. As well as poppies, there will be a number of other poppy items for the children to choose from.
 
Suggested donation prices:
Poppies - any donation
Zip pull, reflector -  50p each
Wristbands - £1.00 each
Snap band - £1.50 each
 
Reminders

Reading buddies
If children would like to bring a book from home to share this with their friends – this will happen every Friday.

Nursery Parents
To parents of children due to start Reception in September 2024, the application window to secure your reception space will soon be opening.  Even if your child is already in Nursery here, you must still apply for a school place.
 
Dates from NYCC website:
 
From 12 October 2023, you can apply for a school place for children born between: 
  • 1 September 2016 and 31 August 2017
  • 1 September 2019 and 31 August 2020

Is your child due to start school in September 2024, or do you know somebody who is? Please book in to come and have a tour of our school and see all of the exciting things we have to offer.
