Sunshine and darkness!
Mrs Sharpley - 23 Sep 2021
We have been lucky to have such a sunny week at school for all the exciting activities we have been doing. After last week's fun football taster session, this week we tried athletics and frisby.
We have also be enjoying our skipping skills in our ten minute fitness break - the children have taught me a few good skipping moves that they learned in their sessions last school year. They have also recorded how many skips they could do in a minute and will be hoping to beat this over the coming weeks and months as we all get fitter.

In maths we have been revising place value, representing numbers in different ways, ordering, comparing and problem solving.
In English, we have started to learn how to shape up a persuasive speech that might tempt even the most reluctant Anglo-Saxon to join a battle
We have now had two weeks of wonderful exploration learning and confident communicating in Forest school. We have been working on Science, making shadows and shadow pictures in the lovely sunshine.
While in the classroom in Science, we have been been exploring darkness, how we need light to see, how light travels in straight lines and can be reflected from a light source.
It was quite exciting learning in the darkness - and quite a challenge blackout the light. Well done Asteroids & Comets for a fantastic week of learning. I am really enjoying getting to know you all. I now have access to your various different homework websites and so homework will be winging its way to you shortly. Have a lovely weekend.
