Week commencing 5th July

11 Jul 2021

We had a wonderful day out as a whole school on Wednesday when we spent the day at Thorp Perrow.  The weather, which had threatened to spoil the day, turned out beautifully so we spent the day bathed in sunshine.  The children thoroughly enjoyed all the activities which included pond dipping, watching the amazing owls at the bird of prey centre and feeding the wallabies.  The children were a credit to the school and we were very proud of them.  Thank you to Miss Mandelson who organised the trip.

We had a practice for sports day on Thursday afternoon.  Let's keep our fingers crossed for a sunny day.

On Friday, it was the turn of the Y3/4 children to have a go at flat green bowling.  We are so grateful to John from the bowling club who is giving the children this amazing opportunity.  The children loved it!

The support staff and I have noticed that many of the children can't identify the difference between fiction and non-fiction texts, so this week in English we spent some time in the library looking at different books and devoted a whole morning to securing this knowledge.  Whilst you are listening to your child read please ask them if their book is fiction or non-fiction to check they have remembered.

At least two of Panther Class are very excited about the football final this Sunday.  James and Ava got England and Italy respectively in our school sweeptstake.  We will be presenting the winner with a football next week.  Without sounding at all partisan I just want to say...
COME ON ENGLAND!!!

Have a great weekend.
