Week Commencing 30th March 2020

30 Mar 2020

Good morning,

Sorry for the delay, I am over at Kirkby and have been having internet issues.

I hope you all had a lovely weekend and survived your first week of home learning. Mrs Hatch and I have been really impressed with some of the work that we have seen both on the Instagram account and through the emails you have sent us. Please do keep sending these in; we love to hear what you're getting up to and are missing you lots.

I wonder who is going to continue on with the Joe Wicks workouts this week? I am raring to go this morning. Have you seen Oti Mabuse is doing dance workouts on her Facebook and Instagram accounts daily at 11:30am? Remember there are also the cosmic kids workouts on You Tube too if you're wanting some time to relax and be mindful. Remember to check with your grown ups before logging on to any of these as they do have age restrictions on them. Please remember your internet safety rules.

How are you getting on with your Art/RE projects? If you need any help remember either Mrs Hatch or I will be online daily 9am - 10am on the Panthers email address if you need anything -

I found this online and thought this might be fun to try if you have got the ingredients at home. Make your own piece of history!  I wonder if you have thought about keeping a diary of your time at home - this could be a source of history evidence in the future!

If you fancy doing some practical science activities you will find a link on the menu on the left hand side of Panthers page.  We have also added Fluent in Five week 2.
Have fun and keep safe.

Miss Asker

Good morning. I hope you had a great day yesterday.

I was so impressed with how quickly and efficiently some of you completed your MyMaths tasks yesterday. I couldn’t believe how quickly some of you had realized they were on there and had made a start. This made me so proud of how well you are working. Remember it’s really important to complete the lesson first before you have a go at the homework task.

I wonder if any of you have noticed that I have been marking your tasks once you have completed them. When you next log on, click on scores and then click on the tasks you have completed and if they have been marked you will see my comment at the bottom of the window that pops up. Some of you may have noticed that I have set you the same task again – if I feel you haven’t been as successful as I would have liked I will set you the task again with a message. It’s not a glitch, I just wonder whether you forgot to do the lesson first so have given you a second chance!

Have any of you had a chance to play on some of the games? I wonder if anyone can manage to get their name onto one of the leaderboards.
Well done to those Panthers who managed to complete their sessions last week on TT Rockstars. Well done to the Year 3/4 children who beat the Y5/6 in the battle. I have set new sessions and battles for you for this week. I wonder who will win!

If you’re looking for more ideas for your mathematical learning have a look on the White Rose Maths Home Learning Page. If you click on the picture below it will take you to their page. These are similar to activities we do in school so you should be familiar with them.

Today’s challenge:
Struggling with ideas to help you with your spellings? Click on the link below and it will take you to a spelling menu. Why not try some of these ideas today to help you learn your spellings.

I wonder if you can use the picture below as inspiration to write a 100 word story using as many statutory words as possible. Email them in to us and we’ll add some to the page. I can’t wait to see your creativity.

Stay safe.
Miss A.

Hello Panthers

We hope you are all keeping well and safe.  How is the home learning going?  We would love you to email us to keep us up to date with what you are doing.  Has anyone had a chance to look at the realPE resources which you can find using the link on the left hand side menu.   We hope you are doing your daily workout with Joe Wicks.  Mrs Hatch had a go yesterday - goodness me!  It's tough.

Harrison, Ted and Kitty have been busy doing this great science experiment.  How on earth did they manage to push a skewer through the balloons without bursting them?

If any of you have done any other science experiments, send a photo in and we will add it to the class page.

Hello again everyone.

Well quite often on a Thursday afternoon we do a bit of French.  Why not have a go at some of these online games by clicking on the link below.  You might need to use a French/English dictionary which you will find online too.  Good luck and have fun.  Don't forget to send in any of the work you have been doing.  We would love to see it.

Hello again everyone.  You will be pleased to know that your first two weeks of home learning has come to an end and the Easter holiday is in sight!  We don't expect you to continue with your daily timetable during the holiday unless you want to but we will be posting some lovely Easter ideas to keep you from getting bored.  They are not compulsory.  The main thing we want you to do is to have a rest, spend some lovely time with your family (and friends over the internet!! ) and if you can get out into your gardens or go for a walk, enjoy any good weather we might get.
We would also like you to continue READING.  We don't mind what sort of reading you do as long as you do some.
Finally, we would like to share Edie's RE project with you.  We are sure you will agree that she has worked really hard on this to make it informative, lively and interesting.  Well done Edie and thank you for taking the time to send it in.

Have a lovely Easter everyone and stay safe.
Mrs Hatch and Miss Asker xx
