Excitement has started to build in Tiger Class this week as we moved on in our topic work to focus on weddings.  The children are busily making plans for our pretend wedding at St Nicholas Church with our friends from Oak Class at Kirkby Malzeard.  Reverend Sian has kindly agreed to officiate and everone is welcome to join us on the afternoon of Monday 21st October.  Many thanks to all who have already sent in photos and other memorabilia from family weddings - the children have enjoyed sharing them and we look forward to receiving more!

A big thank you to everyone who spent time with their children talking through ideas for our work on alliteration.  The children were well-prepared to put the final touches to their alliterative sentences this week and are proud of their work.  Do pop in to take a look at the display if you get a moment.  In maths, we have been saying the number which is one more or one less...and the older children have been getting into the swing of the 'Daily Four' which has given the opportunity to practise addition, subtraction, multiplication and division each day.

What an end to the week!  We have finished our English work on 'The Tiger Who Came to Tea' so we had a little tea party to celebrate this afternoon.  Luckily there were no unexpected knocks on the door!  The children have worked so hard in their English lessons and we are looking forward to working on 'The Scarecrows' Wedding' over the next few weeks.

We have been doing lots of shape challenges in Maths and have learnt a new word- vertices.  See if your child can explain what it means!  As always, thank you for your support at home in reading and discussing school topics with your child.  It really does make a difference!
