Week commencing 14th September

19 Sep 2020

Hello,
What a fantastic week we have had once again with the Panthers. They really are brilliant and continue to amaze us with their resilience and positive energy.

We have had a busy week this week, spending a lot of time focusing on our school values and finding out about Class Dojos and our ‘Recognition Board’. Why not ask your child to explain a little more about these.
In our PSHCE lessons we have looked at the ‘Zones of Regulation’ thinking about our feelings and emotions and have discussed how experiencing these emotions is perfectly normal. We thought about times when we felt different emotions and started to come up with a list of strategies that we use to help us move from feeling angry, upset or tired to happy and calm.  We have also started putting together a class charter based on our 3Bs:

Be Respectful
Be Ready
Be Safe

We have already discussed and agreed how patience and peace will look in Panther Class and how they will be at the core of daily life at school.  Next week we will look at kindness and love.

We learnt some socially distanced games in the sunshine on Tuesday and the children have enjoyed playing these at playtimes and lunchtime.

In Science, we have started our unit on Animals including Humans.  We used identifying and classifying to put our food into groups based on what nutrients they provide and how they help us.  We have also looked at different types of animal skeletons.

Keep a look out for some collaborative art that we have created: the children are very excited to see what it looks like when it is all connected together. Hopefully it will help to put a smile on our faces as we continue to live in these challenging times and will be reminder that together we can achieve great things.

Have a lovely weekend.
