Daily Update - 23rd June 2020

22 Jun 2020

Hello Panthers,

I hope you are well and are continuing to work hard at home. Have you seen that I have set some battles on TT Rockstars. I wonder if you can help your team win this week.

Did you know that on this day in 1961 The Antarctic Treaty was enacted, reserving the entire continent for free and nonpolitical scientific investigation. I wonder if you could find out more about this and the work that they do in Antarctica.

Enjoy singing? The Diocese of Leeds are running free online singing sessions daily at 2pm. The sessions focus on developing singing skills, the national curriculum for music and each week focuses on a specific Christian theme. Above all they aim to instill a love of singing – fun, engaging, stimulating and challenging. This week’s theme is ‘Saints’. Click here to be taken to their YouTube channel.

Mrs Hatch is very excited to let you all know that this Friday sees the first online ‘Virtual Science and Technology Festival’. The festival has been running for 5 years and this year has gone online. With no boundaries to limit them, they’re extending the event across UK schools in the hope that they can inspire the next generation of children to develop their interest in science. Click here to see a full schedule of events which run from 10am to 3pm. There looks to be some great events from creating mini explosions ‘safely’ in your own backyard to creating giant ‘toothpaste’ through a chemical reaction that produces a foamy substance fit for an elephant. It looks great fun. Let us know next week if you take part in any of these. You may need to look at the schedule before the day as you may need to prepare some equipment for the sessions.

Have a great day, remember I will be online on the panthers@ email address from 9am - 10am if you want to say hello or share your learning.
