Advent Adventures
It was lovely to be able to see and interact with Reverend Sian via Teams on Monday for our Collective Worship as we come to Advent in the church calendar.  We learnt all about Jesus' ancestors as Reverend Sian hung baubles on a Jesse Tree.  Very kindly, Reverend Sian has also put together an Advent Posada pack for each child in the school, which Reverend Cleeves dropped off earlier this week.  Head over to the 'School News and Events' page of the website for more information.

This week has been assessment week in school.  We have been really proud of how hard the children have worked to complete all the assessment tasks and it has been lovely to see the progress they have made over the term.  Well done to all our Tigers.  With this big job now out of the way, we are looking forward to making a start on our Nativity next week.  Many thanks to all families who have loaned costumes and to members of the community who have lent their support.

We did find a little time in our busy week to continue our Geography work using another of Steve Antony's wonderful picture books.  This time the adventure involved not the Queen's hat...but her handbag!

What does the Queen do when a sneaky swan snatches her handbag?  Gives chase of course!  This time she travelled all over the UK visiting lots of British landmarks along the way.  I wonder how many of them the Tigers can recall?  Click on the image below to check your answers:

Can you name one landmark for each of the four UK nations?

In English with Mrs Clegg, the KS1 children have been re-telling the story of 'Sweep'- have a look at some of our writing below:

We are really working hard to improve our stamina for writing, any extra writing at home would also help, writing Christmas cards, letters to Santa, thank you letters etc.  We would love to see any work done at home, maybe you could take a photo and share it on Seesaw?

Could we also ask that children have their book bags, reading books and reading records in school every day so we can listen to the children read at any opportunity?  Thank you for all the reading you are doing at home too.

Finally, if anybody has any spare clothes and underwear (particularly socks), our spares box is running low and we would appreciate any donations.

Have a super weekend....three weeks to go until the big day!
