Miss Mandelson and Mrs Clegg - 26 Nov 2020

A super week in Tiger Class
After one last gust of wind the Queen's Hat has finally landed at Kensington Palace and has been retrieved by the Queen.  Just look at its final resting place:
We made some very sensible predictions about who the baby in the pram could be, showing off our knowledge of the royal family to conclude our History topic about Queen Elizabeth II.  In Guided Reading the children have also been enjoying Katie in London by James Mayhew over the last few weeks.  A special mention to Evie who completed her follow-up work to this brilliantly this week.

In Maths, the children have continued to work on addition by exploring some 'first, then, now' number stories:

An activity to practise this has been uploaded onto Seesaw for the children to try at home.  This will also give the children an opportunity to continue to become familiar with our new home-learning app.  They can draw straight onto the template provided.  Alternatively they can draw on paper or use real objects and upload a photo, voice message or video.  Have fun!
The Reception children have been learning all about the 'two-ness of two', working together to create this wonderful Museum of Two!

Can you find something related to 'two' at home and let us know via Seesaw?

In Phonics the Reception children have all been working really hard to learn three tricky words: 'I', 'no' and 'go.'
Look at their super writing!

The Key Stage One children have also done some super English work, writing four sentences to describe a picture in 'Sweep.'  I am so proud of their confidence and clarity when reading their work to the class- well done to you all!

In Art this week we have been practising our tearing and scrunching skills to make our very own stained glass windows.  We used lots and lots and lots of glue!  I will upload some photos next week when the glue has (hopefully) dried!  We are looking forward to seeing the sunlight shine through and are hoping to see a rainbow in our classroom!

Please keep reading at home and have a super weekend!
