Week Commencing 23rd March 2020

Miss Mandelson and Mrs Clegg - 24 Mar 2020

Hello Tigers

We hope you have all had a chance to look at our new 'home learning timetables'.  If you haven't seen them yet, look at the home learning tab to the left.  There is one for each group and they will give you some ideas of tasks you can do each day.

Each week we shall post some further ideas so keep checking our class page.

The children who have needed to come to school this week have been busy creating a 'rainbow window' to spread some colour and cheer up our neighbours.  Maybe you could do the same at home.  We painted, printed, used collage and even wove rainbows!
As well as joining in with Joe Wicks this morning (well done, Daisy - we see that you did too!), we also had a go at yoga.  Look for Cosmic Kids Yoga on YouTube.  We did the Minecraft one but there are many more to choose from.  Have fun!

Good morning Tigers!  Hope you are all well.  We wonder who joined in with Joe Wicks this morning?  At school our favourite move was 'the spiderman'.  Mrs Walker is definitely up for 'Star of the Week'!
This afternoon we would be doing our Computing on 'Scratch' for the first hour.  If you have got a tablet you could ask your grown up to download  the A.L.E.X. App  This is a fun puzzle game that is also a great way to train your brain.  You have to plan a logical sequence for your robot A.L.E.X. to navigate around a maze.  If you don't have a tablet you could plan a sequence for your grown up in the garden. e.g. "take two steps forward, turn right..." etc.  To make it extra tricky you could add in some obstacles for them to navigate around!

After Computing we would be doing PE.  You could repeat the Yoga video we did last Wednesday ( ) or do one of the Cosmic Kids videos mentioned yesterday.  Have a good day!

Wasn't the weather lovely yesterday?  We hope you managed to get outside and enjoy the sunshine!  Let's hope we get the same today!

We have added another activity on MyMaths for Year 1 and 2.  Remember to click on 'Try the lesson' first to pick up some top tips before you do the homework activity.  How are you getting on with your 'Number of the Day' activity?  We hope you're challenging yourselves!

This afternoon we would be doing Science.  Have your 'beans in a bag' continued to sprout roots and shoots?  It would be lovely to see some photos!  When your bean has fully sprouted see if you have a plant pot and some compost to plant your bean into.  Soon you might have some beans to eat...or a magic beanstalk?!

Take care Tigers!

Good morning Tigers!  It's Friday!  Your first week of home learning is nearly finished.  You should be very proud of yourselves!  You will all be ready for a good rest this weekend.

We hope you're carrying on with your morning tasks from the timetable.  If you would like to try some different Maths then visit to access interactive lessons.  We use White Rose Maths in school so parents will find it useful to see how we teach key concepts.  It will be great to consolidate all of your learning so far this year.

This afternoon we were due to start our big Art/DT project to create a castle....that's what all of the tubes were for!  Your task for this afternoon is to see if you can make a castle or a castle picture at home.  Maybe you could collect natural objects from the garden and use them to make a picture of a castle; or maybe you could build a den with some old sheets and make it look like a castle; maybe you could look in your recycling bin and make a castle from cardboard like we were going to do in school.  However you choose to make/represent a castle, Miss Mandelson and I would love to see some photos!  Ask your grown ups to email them to us at
Have fun!yes
